The geometry underlying each Farbteiler is a rectilinear, mostly self-avoiding random walk, although in 20 % of the cases, self-intersection is allowed. The geometry is plotted as dots in horizontal and/or vertical lines in cabinet projection. The geometry can be repeated vertically and in some cases separated into several levels.
The full palette is taken from Johannes Itten's Farbkreis (1961). Each Farbteiler is plotted with a random subset of one to twelve of those colors. The background is dotted in a grid using the same subset of colors.
